February is Heart Health Month

According to the American Heart Association, heart disease is the leading cause of death for men and women in the United States. Every year, 1 in 4 deaths are caused by heart disease.

Heart disease can often be prevented when people make healthy choices and manage their health conditions.People who exercised briskly for 40 minutes per day, four days per week, significantly improved not only their cardiovascular health, but also lost weight and reduced their blood sugar levels.

Maintaining a healthy waistline and heathy weight is another key factor beside exercise. Changing the way you approach weight loss can help you be more successful at weight management. Most people who are trying to lose weight focus on just the goal of weight loss. However, setting the right goals and focusing on lifestyle changes such as following a healthy eating plan, watching portion sizes, and making healthy food swaps such as seltzer for soda, spices for added salt or roasted veggies for buttered or breaded veggies, plus being physically active, and reducing sedentary time are all healthy choices.
